Information for guests

Breakfast can be served in either the formal dining room or the farm house style kitchen.
Evening meals can be provided some evenings, advanced notice is required. When available the lamb and beef are from Crookham Village farm, fish is sourced from nearby Eyemouth, whilst vegetables and fruit are often village grown.

Ivy Cottage is the perfect location for exploring the Northumberland countryside. The Cheviot Hills set in over 1000 kilometres of The Northumbrian National Park, which includes a beautiful 12th cenrtury church and the College Vally, so secluded and private a permit is required to visit are within easy reach

The area is full of sites of historical inerest and ancient stone circles. Ford and Etal Estate, in which Crookham is located has a small gauge railway, cycle hire, the partly ruined Etal Castle, and (a personal favourite of mine ) the stunningly beautiful Lady Waterford Hall.

Holy Island, the seat of Christianity in this country  and Bambrough Castle are on most visitors’ lists to visit. Miles of breathtaking beaches are waiting to be explored. Edinburgh lies just 54 miles away and a day trip can be easily undertaken.

But be warned, the magic of this beautiful area will call you back!
